Which is better a low carb diet or a low fat diet? Interestingly enough, in a recent letter published by “Harvard Health” the author made the statement that a low carb diet plan would win “hands down” in terms of losing weight quickly.

It seems that researchers are still somewhat mystified about why it is that many people do lose weight faster when they follow a low carb diet plan than with other types of fat loss diets. At the same time, it seems that not every person has the right body type to really benefit most from following a low carb plan, and some people do better when they follow a low fat diet.

Some medical doctors worry about putting people on a low car diet plan because often that means that people tend to eat more foods that are high in fat. However, there are many healthy recipes that people can follow when dieting with a low carbohydrate plan that can help them be sure they have the proper balance of healthy food in their diet.

There are many excellent chicken recipes and been recipes available to low carb dieters that can help them make creative and tasty meals and prepare them in healthy, low fat ways.

Getting Started With a Low Carb Diet Plan

Executive Summary About Low Carb Diet Plan By Diane Crawford

Once you’ve finally made the decision to lose weight, and you’ve decided you want to try a low carb diet plan, the hard part is practically over. So let’s look at what your first several days of a low carb diet plan might be like.

Day one of your low carb diet plan should really start with some firm decisions. First you decide you will lose weight of course, and second you decide to go with a low carb diet plan to accomplish that weight loss. Next though, you need to choose which low carb diet plan you intend to follow. Three popular ones include the Atkins low carb diet plan, The South Beach low carb diet plan, and The Glycemic Index low carb diet plan.

So on day one, decide which low carb diet plan you will be following and familiarize yourself with how that low carb diet plan works specifically.

Day two of your low carb diet plan will involve planning and preparation. Toss out or give away any high carb, high sugar content foods that you won’t be eating with your low carb diet plan.

Most low carb diet plans don’t allow you to have certain foods in the first week or two on the plan, but you can gradually add those foods in later. Day three of your low carb diet plan is when you will actually change the way you eat. One of the biggest pitfalls of most low carb diet plans is that you need to cook the proper foods for your particular plan. The next several days of your low carb diet plan might not be the best.

Free Weight Loss Programs – Simple Ways to Be Healthier

Executive Summary About Free Weight Loss Programs By Ryan Daniels Lee

Free Weight Loss programs are ideal for people who want to lose weight and either don’t want to spend money or budget for it. Free weight loss programs work when they are sensible and part of your overall health management regime.

Weight loss programs deal with the two major components of weight loss:

1. Diet or calorie intake
2. Exercise

By changing these two factors of your free weight loss program, you will be able to manage your weight better and see some results in a relatively short time.

When beginning on your free weight loss program, remember to start with the weight loss plan gradually. It will take time for both your body and mind to adjust to the changes in your lifestyle and food intake.

Find weight loss programs that are suitable for you. Part of the reason for weight gain is psychological and therefore this must be addressed along with any easy weight loss diet that is being used.

Here are some ways you can build your own free weight loss program:

Your Free Weight Loss Program Diet Tip

People tend to eat more when they have a larger variety of foods they can select from. A simple way to control your diet is through portion control. In most cases, the food that you are eating will probably already be what you need. The problem tends to be larger than necessary portions. By simply cutting your portions in half or reducing your portion size, you are already reducing the amount of calories you are consuming.

Because weight loss in most cases is the simple formula of expending more calories than you consume, reducing your calorie intake already puts you ahead in the game. You can still eat them, but in smaller portions.

Free Weight Loss Exercise Tips

In many cases, people live sedentary lifestyles. Walking to lose weight is one way you can immediately incorporate into your lifestyle.

Other Tips In Your Free Weight Loss Program

Keep a journal of your loss program. By changing your lifestyle in terms of diet and exercise, not only will you start to lose weight and build a better body, it’s something that will be permanent and healthy for you the rest of your life.

Home Cholesterol Test

Executive Summary About Cholesterol Test By Jan Pascal

cholesterol-test

cholesterol-test

Home cholesterol test is a simple and convenient method to determine our cholesterol level. Normal level is not the same for all people. Why do we need to test its level?

LDL (low-density lipoprotein) carries cholesterol from the liver to the rest of the body. Excessive cholesterol can cause LDL to deposit it onto the arteries. Since the blood carries oxygen to the heart, you may suffer chest pain if enough oxygen cannot reach your heart. Fats in our diet are divided into different types, according to their chemical composition: saturated fats, monounsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fats.

Consuming a lot of saturated fats (processed meats like salami and sausages, full fat dairy products, cakes, snack foods like chips, deep fried foods, biscuits) might raise the levels of LDL in the blood, so these kinds of fats are often called ‘bad fats’.

Consuming monounsaturated fats (canola oil, olive oil, avocados and most nuts) or polyunsaturated fats (oils of seeds and grains, such as sunflower, soybeans and walnuts, safflower, corn), might increase the levels of HDL. These fats are called ‘good fats’.

There are many ways to test the level of cholesterol. This test can be accurate up to 95% of the time comparing to usual clinical test. Home test requires only a drop of blood and after a few minutes we get the result by reading the test device to determine cholesterol level in our blood. Some home tests measure only total level, while most can measure also LDL and HDL levels.

If we have results from some previous clinical test, we can use home test to check if the level has changed since.

Cholesterol Test – Interpreting the Results

Executive Summary About Cholesterol Test By Anne Hamilton

There are some people who state that home cholesterol (Chol.) testing is not as accurate as testing that is conducted in a laboratory. There are two major types of tests that you can perform at home, a full lipid profile test (the same as is performed in a hospital) or a total cholesterol test. With this variety of options there is no doubt that cholesterol testing joins blood sugar tests, ovulation kits and home HIV testing as a standard product that can be found in any American home.

A total cholesterol home test is meant to be able to monitor total Chol. A complete lipid profile cholesterol test will give you [a] reading for total Chol., low-density lipoprotein (bad Chol.), high-density lipoprotein (good Chol.) and triglycerides. Measuring total cholesterol at home gives you just one number which is a fairly good idea about the direction in which your total Chol. level is going.

According to the National Cholesterol Education Program, following are the cholesterol test result ranges and their interpretations.

- Desirable range – lower than 200 mg/dL or 5.17 mmol/L
- Borderline – Between 200 mg/dL and 239 mg/dL or between 5.17 mmol/L and 6.21 mmol/L
- High cholesterol levels – higher than 240 mg/dL or 6.21 mmol/L

On the other hand if the reading falls in the borderline or high cholesterol range, then you might need to purchase a full lipid profile home cholesterol test to completely understand the situation.

It depends on the recipe that you choose. Grilled foods are very popular among the health conscious. It is any food cooked without oil. Instead, it is smoked to tenderize the meat. The heat slowly cooks the food.

Other kinds of grilled foods are steaks, kebabs, seafoods or vegetables. Here are some principles of grilling. Remember that there is only one portion of a meat or fish good for grilling. It is also recommended to first preheat the food before grilling. Natural juices are lost with overcooking. The meat then ends up dry.

Avoid sticking by putting a little oil in the grill. It may be possible that you pass the meat to be grilled in the clean cooking oil. When you start cooking, use steak tongs to turn the meat. If you are grilling both meat and fish at the same time, separate a clean area for the fish so that the flavors will not get mixed. Clean the grill to avoid burnt residue. The usual grilled foods are seasoned after being sealed.

Vegetables and sea food are easy to grill and make healthy additions to your meat and fishes. Vegetable recipes are also becoming prevalent now as many people are turning vegetarians. These are healthy alternatives usually grown naturally. It requires little time to cook. Some people prefer veggies to be half-cooked only because most nutrients are lost in heat.

There are four types of vegetarian people. These are the true vegetarian, lacto vegetarian, ovo vegetarian and the pesco vegetarian. The true vegetarian eats only vegetables. They eat no meat or fish, not even processed foods. The lacto vegetarian includes dairy product in their diets. The ovo vegetarian also eats eggs. The pesco vegetarian eats non red meat, fish, dairy products and eggs. To make your dish healthier, do not use oil in cooking your egg.
